In 2016, we launched our podcast series, Open Ninth, to serve as an educational tool for the citizens of Orange and Osceola counties. This tool would help the members of our community gain better insight into the inner workings of the judicial system and provide a behind-the-scenes look at our judges and staff. With that goal in mind, we’ve spoken to a variety of guests over the years. Florida Supreme Court justices, local reporters, a courtroom sketch artist, security and technology experts, to name a few, as well as many of our own judges have sat down in the studio to talk all about our courts and various ways they connect with the community.
Former chief judge Fred Lauten launched our podcast as our first host nearly six years ago, and it has only grown since. After Lauten’s retirement, former chief judge Don Myers continued the work of his predecessor by bringing a new voice and perspective to the conversations. Now, Chief Judge Lisa Munyon steers our podcast into new and exciting directions as our current host. With the help of all three hosts, Open Ninth has reached a milestone 150 episodes!
We want to celebrate this achievement by thanking you, our listeners, for joining us on this journey over the years. We couldn’t have done it without you!
